DÍA 26/03/2020

Hi children! How are you??

Well, come on with the English class!

Do you remember the verb to be?

Let's review it quickly!

ACTIVITY 1: Kahoot about the verb to be.
POR FAVOR, PONED VUESTRO NOMBRE Y PRIMER APELLIDO

KAHOOT  ⇐ CLICK HERE OR WRITE THE PIN ⇓

This is very easy!

Now you have finished the kahoot...

You know that a verb can express present, past and future as in Spanish. For example, when we say:

Como chocolate: It means that this is happening in the present.
Comí chocolate: It means that this happened in the past.
Comeré chocolate: It means that this will happen in the future.

In that sense, as in Spanish, English verbs help us to know when we are speaking.

Now, we know the present tense (tiempo verbal  de presente).

Aaaaaaaaand we are going to start with the past!
👏👏👏👏

So, children, let me introduce you... the verb to be in past.

I was
You were
He was
She was
It was
We were
You were
They were

Very easy... isn't it?

I leave you a table which compares the simple present (that we already know) and the simple past (that we have just learnt).

I also leave you a table with the verb to be in past in affirmative, negative and interrogative. So you can use the verb to say that you weren't sad last day of class😁, for example.

Remember: as in the present, we can contract the negative verb, and write one word instead of two:
Was not = wasn't
Were not = weren't

ACTIVITY 2: Here I leave you some online exercises to practice this new tense of the verb to be.

And that's all for today!
We see tomorrow!

DÍA 27/03/2020

Good morning!!
How are you children?

Are you ready to continue with the verb to be in past?

Come on!

ACTIVITY 1: First of all, you are going to make an easy test similar to kahoot, in this page:

VERB TO BE IN SIMPLE PAST  CLICK HERE

ACTIVITY 2: Here, I leave you the interrogative particles for making questions:

You don't know some of them, but with this picture you can review all of them, now and in the future.

ACTIVITY 3: Now, open your book in the page 34 and do the exercise 2.

This is a speaking activity so what are you going to do?
Follow the steps:

1. Choose 4 sentences of the exercise 2.
2. Make the sentences: a question and an answer.

↓COPY THIS IN YOUR NOTEBOOK↓

HOW CAN WE DO THE SENTENCES

You have to do the sentences using the past simple, the structure of the sentence is the following one:

QUESTIONS WITH WHO: WHO +  VB TO BE IN PAST + WHERE (at the cinema/school/airport) + WHEN (yesterday/ on Tuesday/last week/ on Monday/ in January...) + ?
ANSWER: NAME (PERSON) OR PERSONAL PRONOUN + VERB TO BE IN PAST +  WHERE + WHEN.

For example: If you choose the number 1 = we - airport.
Who was at the airport yesterday?
We were at the airport yesterday

QUESTIONS WITH WHERE: WHERE +  VB TO BE IN PAST + NAME (PERSON) OR PERSONAL PRONOUN + WHEN (yesterday/ on Tuesday/last week/ on Monday/ in January...) + ?
ANSWER: NAME (PERSON) OR PERSONAL PRONOUN + VERB TO BE IN PAST +  WHERE + WHEN.

For example: If you choose the number 1 = we - airport.
Where were we yesterday?
We were at the airport yesterday

QUESTIONS WITH WHEN: WHEN +  VB TO BE IN PAST + NAME (PERSON) OR PERSONAL PRONOUN + WHERE (at the cinema/school/airport) + ?
ANSWER: NAME (PERSON) OR PERSONAL PRONOUN + VERB TO BE IN PAST +  WHERE + WHEN.

For example: If you choose the number 1 = we - airport.
When were we at the airport?
We were at the airport yesterday

3. Write the four sentences that you choose, using the interrogative particle that you want. REMEMBER, ONLY 4 QUESTIONS WITH THEIR ANSWERS.

4. Make a voki.

Here you have a tutorial

HOW TO MAKE A VOKI

5. Paste the link of the voki as a comment.

And that's all for today!
Enjoy your weekend!

DÍA 31/03/2020

Good morning children!!

How are you??

Let's start to work!!

ACTIVITY 1: Do you remember what is the meaning of far and near?

Let's review with the next video!

The opposite of near is far!!

ACTIVITY 2: Now we are going to learn 2 new structures to ask and answer with near and far! Please, copy these structures in your notebook.

Question 1: HOW FAR +  VB TO BE IN PRESENT + THE PLACE/THE PERSON + ?

Example: How far is the library?

Answer 1: PERSONAL PRONOUN + VB TO BE IN PRESENT + NUMBER + KILOMETRES/METRES + FROM + THE PLACE/PERSON. PERSONAL PRONOUN + VB TO BE IN PRESENT + VERY + FAR/NEAR

Example: It is (we can contract this into "it's") 25 kilometres from the museum. It's very far.

Question 2: VB TO BE IN PRESENT + THE PLACE/PERSON + NEAR THE + ANOTHER PLACE/PERSON+?

Example: Is the library near the zoo?

Answer 2: YES/NO + PERSONAL PRONOUN + VERB TO BE IN PRESENT (+NOT IF IT IS IN NEGATIVE) . +  PERSONAL PRONOUN + VB TO BE IN PRESENT (+NOT IF IT IS IN NEGATIVE)  + NEAR THE + THE SECOND PLACE/PERSON.

Example: Yes, it is. It's near the zoo // No, it isn't. It isn't near the zoo.

ACTIVITY 3:  Page 35 exercise 2 and 3.

Please when you finish the exercises... upload them to the drive!

AND THAT'S ALL FOR TODAY!!
HAVE A NICE DAY!!

DÍA 02/04/2020

ACTIVITY 2: Exercise 2 page 36 in your notebook (tomorrow I will upload the answers, so don't upload it to the drive).

ACTIVITY 3: As we always make a little theatre when we read this page... I have thought that you can do a theatre (different than the comic of page 36), about asking and giving directions.
You can disguise, you can prepare a dialogue and use your family in the theatre, you can prepare a good background...
What you want! Then when you are prepared, record the theatre and upload it to the drive...
If you want to I will upload them to this page so we can see ourselves making a lot of theatres!!
You don't have date of delivery, so keep calm and be great actors and actresses, you have all the time you need!

And that's all for today!!
Have a nice day!!

DÍA 03/04/2020

DÍA 14/04/2020

GOOD MORNING CHILDREN!!!!

HOW ARE YOU?????

ARE YOU READY TO START THIS NEW TERM? THIS NEW ADVENTURE?

Don't your feel a little bit like an explorer? A type of Indiana Jones who is living a situation which is not normal?

If you feel in that way, send me a picture of you with your explorer clothes or maybe you can draw yourself converted in, for example, "Sandra Jones" or "Explorer Sandra" (change Sandra for your name)

Once we have finished that...
COME ON!!! LET'S START!!!

NEW STRUCTURE:

If you want to ask someone how to get to one place to have to say:

Excuse me, do you know how to get to ...... (place)?

Examples in quarantine:
Excuse me, do you know how to get to the kitchen?
Excuse me, do you know how to get to the toilet?
Excuse me, do you know how to get to the living room?

Copy this structure in your notebook, and the examples (you can write your own examples).

ACTIVITY 1: Practice this structure with your family.

1. Write how to get to the different places of your house in a paper.
2. Give this paper to your mum, dad, sister, brother...
3. Ask for directions, like: Excuse me, do you know how to get to the garage?
4. Follow the instructions and see if you are in the place your have asked.

This game is very fun!!

ACTIVITY 2: Open your book in the page 37. Read the exercise 2 and do the questions.
Upload the answers to your drive.

AND THIS IS ALL FOR TODAY!!

GOOD MORNING CHILDREN!!
Today is... FRIDAY!!
So the weekend is here!

ACTIVITY 1: Correct the activity 2

1. A waiter works in a restaurant or a shop assistant work in a supermarket.
2. A shop assistant can tell you how much something costs
3. People who bring you something to drink are waiters.
4. You go to a doctor when you're sick.
5. You see your teacher from Monday to Friday.
6. Pilots fly airplanes.

And Sandra, the exercise 3? WAIT WAIT YOU WILL SEE....

ACTIVITY 2: Well, today we are going to learn to describe people!

We have to take into account the following things:

And we are going to use structures such as:

She/he has got....
She/he is....
She/he is wearing.... (clothes)

For example:

She is Susan. She is middle age, she is 42 years old. She is slim and medium-height. She has got blond hair. Her face is oval and she has got a straight nose. She has got blue oval eyes and she doesn't wear glasses. She has got a large mouth and a beautiful smile. She is wearing a black jacket and a white shirt. She is pretty and elegant.

To this, we are going to add what we have made in the exercise 3.

Susan is shop assistant. She works in supermarkets, shops and shopping centres. In her work, she helps people and tell them how much something costs. She works almost everyday, her only free day is the Sunday so she is tired always.

THIS IS THE COMPLETE DESCRIPTION:

She is Susan. She is middle age, she is 42 years old. She is slim and medium-height. She has got blond hair. Her face is oval and she has got a straight nose. She has got blue oval eyes and she doesn't wear glasses. She has got a large mouth and a beautiful smile. She is wearing a black jacket and a white shirt. She is pretty and elegant. Susan is shop assistant. She works in supermarkets, shops and shopping centres. In her work, she helps people and tell them how much something costs. She works almost everyday, her only free day is the Sunday so she is tired always.

WE HAVE TO SPEAK ABOUT:
- The name.
- The age.
- The build and the height
- The hair.
- The face.
- The nose.
- The eyes.
- The mouth.
- The clothes.
- The general appearance.
- The work.
If you want to you can speak about his/her attitude (she is kind, she helps everybody, she is lazy, she is nervous...)

WITH THAT, YOU HAVE TO: THINK IN A PERSON WHO WORK IN THE WORK OF YOUR ACTIVITY 3. THEN YOU HAVE TO DRAW AND PAINT IT. AND THEN, DESCRIBE HIM/HER.

After that, upload it to the drive.

AND THIS IS ALL FOR TODAY!
HAVE A NICE WEEKEND!!!

DÍA 21/04/2020

Well, today you are in Rome, and it's a new city for you... so your mission is to create a map about Rome. In this map, you have to draw shops and houses, but it's necessary that appear at least the following places:

- Tunic shop.
- The colosseum.
- The roman baths.
- Roman forum.
- The circus maximus.
- The river.

Now, you have to mark where you are and you have to give directions of how to get to, at least, three places.

It's important for you because in this way you are not lost anymore.

When you finish... upload it to the drive.

A VERY NICE SONG

A FUN STORY

HAVE A NICE WEEKEND!!

DÍA 05/05/2020

GOOD MORNING CHILDREN!!!

How are you??

Today, I woke up with this song in mind and I wanted to share it with you. I hope you like it! I leave you the lyrics in case you want to sing it.
Lyrics "somewhere over the rainbow"
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh
Somewhere over the rainbow

Way up high

And the dreams that you dream of

Once in a lullaby
Somewhere over the rainbow

Bluebirds fly

And the dreams that you dream of

Dreams really do come true
Someday, I wish upon a star

Wake up where the clouds are far behind me

Where trouble melts like lemon drops

High above the chimney top

That's where you'll find me
Somewhere over the rainbow

Bluebirds fly

And the dreams that you dare to

Oh why, oh why can't I?
Well, I see trees of green and red roses too

I'll watch them bloom for me and you

And I think to myself

What a wonderful world
Well, I see skies of blue and I see clouds of white

And the brightness of day

I like the dark

And I think to myself what a wonderful world
The colors of the rainbow so pretty
***
Well, have you enjoyed it???
Let's start!!

First of all, we are goint to review the food with the next exercise:

Now, we are going to learn the next new vocabulary:

This is an easy vocabulary, in fact, we usually use the expressions "Glass of water", a "bottle of water" or "a piece of cake".

Half means "mitad" so, if I have a sandwich I can eat half sandwich.

And, cup means "taza" so, I can drink a cup of tea.

ACTIVITY 1: With this in mind, you are going to do the exercise 1 page 43.
YOU DON'T NEED THE AUDIO, it is just for correcting.

ACTIVITY 2: You are going to do the exercise 2 too. This is a listening so you are going to follow the next steps:

Click in this link:

Now, you are going to click in this places:

Then, you can do it the exercise 2.

When you finish, please upload these 2 exercises to the drive.

And this is all for today!!
HAVE A NICE DAY!!

Día 07/05/2020

GOOD MORNING CHILDREN!!!

HOW ARE YOU???

Well, today I didn't have breakfast yet. And I am veeery veeery hungry and I can only think about food.

Here in the future (the time of Roy), they have a robot which cooks, goes shopping for the ingredients, measures the quantity of the ingredients.... well, it makes everything. I have thought that I want to taste an original recipe of the Ancient Rome... so, I need you to write for me an Ancient Rome recipe.

I have looked on the internet and I have found these pictures:

And now, my stomach is making a lot of noise... help me!!!

I look forward to your response!!

Día 12/05/2020

GOOD MORNING CHILDREN!!!

How are you???

Today we are going to learn a new thing!!

Do you remember when we studied "There is/there are"?

There is and there are mean "hay" BUT

"There is" is for singular names
"There are" is for plural names.

For example:

There is a ball in my room.
There are some birds in the sky.
There is a car in the street.
There are pens in my pencilcase.

REMEMBER: we can use  "SOME (algunos)" in affirmative sentences with "there is / there are", for example: there are some birds in the sky. HOWEVER (sin embargo), when the sentence is negative or interrogative we DO NOT USE "SOME", WE USE "ANY". For example: Are there any birds in the sky? or There aren't any birds in the sky.

THIS IS JUST A REVIEW.

NOW, we are going to learn how to say "había", that is, "hay" in past:

There was: había (singular)
There were: había (plural)

For example:

There was a red pen in my table.

There were books in the kitchen.

This is the same that we learnt about "there is/there are" but in past.

SO:

Copy this table in your notebook

And today you have to do the next sentences:
You DON'T HAVE TO UPLOAD IT TO THE DRIVE BECAUSE NEXT DAY I WILL UPLOAD THE ANSWER HERE.

And that is all for today!

WE SEE NEXT DAY!!

Día 14/05/2020

GOOD MORNING CHILDREN!!!

How are you???

First of all, here you have the answers of the worksheet:
And what are we going to do today? Well, first of all you are going to do the exercise 2 page 44.

You don't need to upload it to drive because next day I will upload the answers here.

And, as now we are in a Roman City, we are going to think in our Celtic Town and we are going to write 5 sentences about what there was, there were, there wasn't and there weren't  in our Celtic Town in comparison to what we have in the Roman City.

For example,

There were many sheeps in the street.

or

There wasn't an aqueduct

You have to write these sentences (you can do a power point) and upload it to the drive.

And that's all for today!!
HAVE A NICE WEEKEND!!

Día 19/05/2020

GOOD MORNING CHILDREN!!!

How are you???

Well, today we are going to start with the correction of the exercise 2 page 44.

1. There wasn't any meat yesterday.
2. There was some lettuce yesterday.
3. There weren't some bananas yesterday.
4. There were some apples yesterday.
5. There weren't any eggs yesterday.
6. There was some soup yesterday.
7.  There weren't any carrots yesterday.
8. There was some chicken yesterday.
9.There weren't any biscuits yesterday.
10. There were some green beans yesterday.
11. There wasn't any pasta yesterday.
12. There was some ice yesterday.

After that, we are going to learn about the COUNTABLE AND UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS.

Nouns can be countable or uncountable.

Countable nouns can be counted. For example, you can count apples: an apple, two apples, three apples. Or you can count bananas: one banana, two bananas....

On the other hand, uncountable nouns cannot be counted. For example, you can't say one air or two airs,  one rice or two rices, or one water, two waters... it has not any sense. You breath air, in general or you drink water in general.

You can count glass of water (one glass of water, two glasses of water) but as you can see you CAN'T COUNT the water itself.

I leave you a picture with some countable and uncountable nouns.

And I leave you some videos, so you can understand it better.

And in these pages you can do some exercises to practice what we have just learnt:

And that's all for today!!
We see on thursday!!!

Día 21/05/2020

GOOD MORNING CHILDREN!!!

How are you???

Do you have any doubt about countable and uncountable nouns??

Today we are going to continue because we are going to learn some expressions of quantity (which probably you have heard before).

LET'S START!!!

Please copy this in your notebook.

A LOT OF

We use this expression with countable and uncountable nouns to express very much quantity. We use this in affirmative sentences.

Examples:

- There are a lot of balls in the floor (Hay muchos balones en el suelo)
- I have a lot of money (Tengo mucho dinero)

MANY

We use this expression with countable nouns to express very much quantity. We use this in negative and interrogative sentences, and sometimes we can use it in affirmative sentences.

Examples:

- There aren't many balls in the floor (No hay muchos balones en el suelo)
-  Are there many balls in the floor? (¿Hay muchos balones en el suelo?)

MUCH

We use this expression with uncountable nouns to express very much quantity. We use this in negative and interrogative sentences.

 Examples:

- I don't have much money (No tengo mucho dinero)
-  Is there much water in the bottle? (¿Hay mucha agua en la botella?)

(A) LITTLE

We use this expression with uncountable nouns to express a little quantity. Here we have 2 expressions: little and a little: we use "a little" (un poco/una poca) when we want to express a positive idea (la cantidad es pequeña pero suficiente), and we use "little" (poco/poca) when the idea is negative (la cantidad es pequeña e insuficiente)

 Examples:

- I have a little free time today. (Hoy tengo un poco de tiempo libre.) Es suficiente
- John has very little money. (John tiene muy poco dinero.) Es insuficiente

(A) FEW

We use this expression with countable nouns in plural to express a little quantity. As before, here we have 2 expressions: few and a few: we use "a few" (unos pocos/unas pocas) when we want to express a positive idea (la cantidad es pequeña pero suficiente), and we use "few" (pocos/pocas) when the idea is negative (la cantidad es pequeña e insuficiente)

 Examples:

- I have a few friends. (Tengo unos pocos amigos.) Son suficientes.
- There are few books in the library. (Hay pocos libros en la biblioteca.) Son insuficientes.

SOME

We use this expression with countable  and uncountable nouns to express "algo de". We use this expression in affirmative sentences.

 Examples:

I have some pizza in the fridge (Tengo algo de pizza en el frigo)
The bottle has some water (La botella tiene algo de agua)

ANY

We use this expression with countable  and uncountable nouns to express "nada de" in negative sentences and "algo de" in interrogative sentences. We use this expression in negative and interrogative sentences.

 Examples:

I don't have any pizza in the fridge (No tengo nada de pizza en el frigo)
Is there any water in the bottle? (¿Hay algo de agua en la botella?)

EASY, ISN'T IT?

ACTIVITY 1: Now you have finished, you are going to write ONE SENTENCE with each one. Then, you have to copy these sentences in a power point and you are going to add a picture of each sentence.

AND THAT'S ALL FOR TODAY!!

HAVE A NICE WEEKEND!!!

Día 26/05/2020

GOOD MORNING CHILDREN!!!

How are you???

Today we are going to continue with the expressions of quantity.

- Noella doesn't want any more soup: FALSE -> Noella wants more soup.
- Fusy wins the race: TRUE
- Everybody wants some soup: TRUE

Now we are going to learn a new structure:

WOULD YOU LIKE.....?

When you want to offer something to someone, you can use this expression. For example:

Would you like a cup of tea?
Would you like some potatoes?
Would you like an orange?

And you can answer with: Yes, please / No, thank you.

Now you are going to do the exercise 2 page 47.

You don't need to upload it to the drive because we will correct it next thursday.

AND THAT'S ALL FOR TODAY!!
WE SEE NEXT DAY!!

Día 04/06/2020

GOOD MORNING CHILDREN!!!

First of all, we are going to correct the exercise 2:

1. Where is Shepherd's Pie very popular? Shepherd's Pie is very popular in the UK and in Ireland.
2. Why is it called Shepherd's Pie? It's called Shepherd's Pie because it's got minced lamb, and shepherds are the people who look after lambs.

    1. Now you have finished, you are going to write ONE SENTENCE with each one. Then, you have to copy these sentences in a power point and you are going to add a picture of each sentence.

      ¿Eso?
Ahora que ya has terminado, vas a escribir una frase con cada uno (de las estructuras de arriba). Entonces, tienes que copiar estas frases en un power point y añadir una imagen de cada frase
